Disclaimer

What this site is, and what it is not.

We would rather be clear about the limits of this work than bury them.

General information only

This site is not a law firm and nothing on it is legal advice. Articles describe how the law generally works. Law differs between countries and often between states or provinces, it changes, and the outcome of any real dispute turns on facts that a general article cannot know. Do not act — or decide not to act — on the basis of anything here. Speak to a qualified lawyer in your own jurisdiction about your own situation. If a limitation period may be running, do that quickly.

Accuracy over time

An article is accurate as far as we can establish on the day it is published. Subjects move. Prices, rules, products and best practice all change, and an article does not update itself. Check the date at the top of a piece and treat anything time-sensitive as a starting point for your own checking.

Photographs

Photographs are licensed from Pexels and are illustrative. Unless a caption says otherwise, an image shows the general subject of the article rather than the specific place, product or person being described.

External links and advertising

Links to other sites are not endorsements, and neither are the adverts around the articles. We do not control either, and we do not vet the businesses that advertise.

Errors

If you find a mistake, please tell us through the contact form and we will correct it and say that we have. That is set out in our editorial policy.
